1/2 c Shortening

1 c Sugar

2 Eggs; beaten

1/2 ts Salt

1 1/2 c Flour

1 ts Cinnamon

1/4 ts Cloves

1 ts Baking soda

3 c Apples; peeled, chopped

1/2 c Nuts

***topping*** 3 tb Butter; melted

3 tb Flour

1 c Brown sugar

shortening and sugar. Add eggs, salt, flour, spices and soda. Fold in apples and nuts. Pour into greased 9 x 13 pan and bake for 25 minutes. While this is baking, mix together topping ingredients.
