From: Gaye Levy ** DTXT63A 2 Med Onions, chopped
1 ts (or less) olive oil or PAM
2 Cloves minced garlic
4 8 oz cans no-salt tomatoes
2 6 oz cans no-salt tom paste
1 c Red wine
1 c Water
2 ts Dried oregano leaves
1 ts Pepper
1 ts Sugar
In a deep saucepan, cook onion in oil or PAM until soft. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 2 to 3 hours. Taste after 1 1/2 hours and adjust seasoning. Sauteed mushrooms are a great addition.
