1 c Sugar
1 c Molasses
4 c Flour
2 ts Baking soda
1 ts Ground ginger
1/2 ts Ground cloves or cinnamon
1/2 ts Salt
1 c Warm water
Cream shortening and sugar. Blend in molasses. Sift together flour, soda, ginger, cloves and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with warm water. Drop by teaspoonfuls, 2 inches apart, onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 375~ 8 to 10 minutes. Don’t over-bake and cookies will be moist and soft. 52 cal; 2 gr fat; 35% fat. —–
