2 1/4 c Flour

3 t Baking powder

1 c Maple syrup

1/2 c Milk

1 c Chopped nuts

1/2 c White sugar

1 t Salt

1/2 c Soft shortening

2 ea Eggs

Sift dry ingredients together into bowl. Add syrup, shortening and milk; beat 2 minutes. Add eggs and beat 2 minutes. Add choppeed nuts and mix well. Pour into 2 greased and floured 9″ pans. Bake in 350? oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Frost. By Pamela Graves – Serves 18
