Add flour mixture; mix well. Stir in apples and nuts. Pour into well-greased and floured 9 inch square baking pan. Bake 40-45 minutes or until wooden pick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool. Spread with Cream Cheese Frosting. Store covered in refrigerator. Cream Cheese Frosting: In small mixer bowl, beat cream cheese, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Gradually beat in powdered sugar until smooth and of spreading consistency. Makes about 1 1/4 cups. Debbie’s notes: I made this for a Halloween party but doubled it and baked it in two 9×12″ baking pans and cut the cooking time down by about 5 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned on top and tests done. It’s a great cake and sweet.
