3 T Butter, melted

1/2 c Sugar

1/4 t Salt

1 1/2 c Quaker oats

1/2 t Baking powder

1 ea Egg, well beaten

1/2 t Almond extract

Mix all the dry ingredients together; add the butter, extract and egg, and mix thoroughly. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet and bake at 350-F about 5 minutes. Remove from pan while warm. Source: Pennsylvania Dutch Cook Book – Fine Old Recipes, Culinary Arts Press, 1936.
