1 cup butter, softened

1/2 cup sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 3/4 cups flour

1 cup walnuts,finely chopped

9 ounces milk chocolate kisses (about 36)

confectioners’ sugar (optional)

In large bowl, cream butter,sugar and vanilla; add flour and walnuts. Beat on low speed with electric mixer until thoroughly mixed. Cover and chill. Preheat oven 375 degrees. Wrap each kiss with about 1 tablespoon dought, covering each candy completely. Roll each between palms to form a ball. Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake about 10 minutes, until center of cookies look set and edges are light brown. May roll in confectioners’s sugar while warm. Cool on wire racks. Store in tins or airtight containers. Yield 3 dozen
