1 c Butter or regular margarine
1 c Lard
2 c Brown sugar; firmly packed
1/2 c Dairy sour cream
4 1/2 c Flour; sifted
3 ts Ground cinnamon
1 ts Salt
1/2 ts Baking soda
1/2 ts Ground nutmeg
1/4 ts Ground cloves
1/2 c Walnuts; chopped
Cream together butter, lard, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in sour cream. Sift together flour, cinnamon, salt, baking soda, nutmeg, and cloves. Gradually add dry ingredients to creamed mixture, mixing well with a spoon. Stir in walnuts. Cover and chill 1 hour in refrigerator. Shape dough into 4 (6″) rolls. Chill in refrigerator overnight. Cut rolls into 1/4″ slices. Place 2″ apart on greased baking sheets. Bake in 350 oven 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from baking sheets; cool on racks.
