1 1/2 cups flour — sift well
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme — crushed
3/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup sour cream
3/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons oil
In a mixing bowl stir together dry ingredients. In another bowl combine sour cream, milk, and oil. Combine the flour mixture with the sour cream mixture. Stir just until all the dry ingredients are thoroughly moistened. Drop the dumplings from a tablespoon to make 8 mounds atop the bubbling soup or stew. Reduce the heat, cover, and simmer the dumplings for about 15 minutes. Do not lift cover. Makes 8 dumplings.
