2 cups sugar
1 1/4 cups flour
4 eggs
3/4 cup cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup walnuts — (optional)
1/4 teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease 8 or 9 inch pan. Melt butter. Combine co coa and sugar. Add melted butter. Add eggs and vanilla, stir. Add flour and salt; mix, but DO NOT OVERMIX. Add walnuts. Pour into prepared pan. Bake unti l brownies begin to pull away from sides or toothpick comes out clean 40 – 50 m inutes. Cool before cutting into squares.
