8 ounces bow tie pasta
1 1/2 cup packaged baby carrots — pre-peeled
1 teaspoon chopped fresh dill
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
salt to taste
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Have the children carefully lower the car rots and bow tie pasta into the water with liquid measuring cups. Stir with a s poon. Cook the pasta until it is no longer hard or stiff and drain in a colande r, making sure that the children are at a safe distance as even the steam is ho t.
Have the children snip the fresh dill over a cutting board with kitchen shears. Return the pasta and carrots to the pot. Add the butter and stir to combine. S tir in the dill. Mix thoroughly with a wooden spoon.
