EXCHANGES
You could easily make many variations for this soup! Make it with ground turkey or ground chicken, add any spices you like such as cumin, chili powder and smoked paprika. All soups are super versatile and we love trying new things.
We have made this recipe many times and love changing it up. You will see corn in the ingredients; We skipped it the last time we did it and I took these photos. It’s great with or without it!
Debi
“I made this last night with a twist or two and we loved it!! I used ground sausage instead of ground beef. I also added a couple of chopped new potatoes, a can of beans and chopped up some carrots. “It was truly heaven in a bowl!!!”
⭐TIP
Cabbage Tip: Green cabbage and Savoy cabbage are best used in cooked recipes. Red cabbage is best raw and napa cabbage is best raw or sautéed. The bok choy is well stir-fried.
