2 lb pinto beans

2 med onion

4 rib celery

1 clove garlic — minced

1 bell pepper — chopped

1 bunch green onion — chopped

5 strips bacon — cut in small pieces

salt — to taste few dashes red pepper chili powder — to taste

Brown bacon pieces in skillet and add chopped vegetables and cook over low heat until wilted. Add to beans that have been soaked overnight. Add water to bea ns and cover and cook until tender. Cooking time: 3-4 hrs.
