2 c flour

4 ts baking powder

1/2 ts salt

1/2 ts cream of tartar

2 ts sugar

1/2 c shortening

2/3 c milk

Mix dry ingredients. Cut in shortening till crumbly. Add milk at once. Stir quickly with fork till dough follows fork around bowl. Knead on lightly floured surface 10-12 strokes. Roll or pat 1/2 inch thick. Cut biscuits. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 10-12 minutes in 450′ oven
