1 c Flour
3/4 c Sugar
1/2 c Cocoa; divided
2 ts Baking powder
1/2 c Skim milk
1/4 c Applesauce
1 ts Vanilla
3/4 c Packed brown sugar
1 3/4 c Hot water
Combine flour, sugar, 1/4 cup of the cocoa, and baking powder in mixing bowl. In separate bowl, combine milk, applesauce and vanilla. Stir wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Spoon batter into greased 8 inch square bakingpan. Combine brown sugar, remaining 1/4 cup cocoa and water. Pour over batter. Bake at 350 40 mintues. Remove from oven; cool in pan. Cut into squares.
