1/3 c Margarine

1/2 c Brown sugar

1 Egg

1 c Unbleached white flour

1/2 c Whole-wheat flour

1 ts Baking powder

1/2 ts Salt

1 ts Cinnamon

1/4 ts Grated nutmeg

3 tb Milk

1/4 c Raisins

1/2 c Chopped walnuts

2 1/2 c Peeled, diced cooking

Apples Preheat oven to 400 F. Lightly grease a cookie sheet with margarine. In a large mixing bowl, cream margarine and brown sugar. Add egg and beat until batter is smooth. Combine white flour, whole-wheat flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix into batter alternately with milk. Stir in raisins and nuts. Fold in apples. Drop batter by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Dee Penrod —–
