—–low cholesterol—– 2 c Sifted cake flour

1 ts Salt

1 1/2 c Sugar

1/2 c Vegetable oil

1 c Skim milk

3 ts Baking powder

4 Egg whites

1 ts Vanilla

Margarine (optional) *If desired, use plan confectioners’ sugar frosting. These cakes may be filled with jelly, preserves, or lemon cornstarch filling. Preheat oven to 350* (moderate). Prepare a 10-inch tube pan or two 8-inch layer pans by greasing lightly with oil or margarine and dusting with flour. Sift together in a mixing bowl the flour, salt, and sugar. Add the oil and 2/3 cup of the milk. Stir until the flour is dampened and beat 1 minute, Stir in the baking powder and add the remaining 1/2 cup milk, the egg whites, and vanilla.
