1 c Golden raisins

1 c Water

3/4 c Crisco

1 1/2 c Sugar

2 Eggs

1 ts Vanilla

2 1/2 c Flour

1 ts Baking soda

1 ts Salt

1 ts Cinnamon

1/2 ts Baking powder

2 c Dry oats

1/2 c Nuts; finely chopped

Simmer raisins and water over medium heat until raisins are plump, about 15 minutes. Drain raisins, reserving liquid. Add enough water to reserved

liquid to make 1/2 cup. Heat oven to 400~F. Mix together crisco, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Stir in reserved liquid. Slowly blend in remaining ingredients. Drop by rounded teaspoonsonto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 8 ~ 10 minutes or until cookies are golden. Makes 6 dozen cookies. Store in airtight containers. —–
