1/2 c Shortening

1/2 c Granulated sugar

1/2 c Brown sugar

1/2 ts Vanilla

1 Egg

1 c Flour

1/2 ts Salt

1/2 ts Soda

1 c Rolled oats; quick cooking

6 oz Chocolate chips

* For a different treat, use butterscotch chips. Mix all well. Drop by teaspoons on greased sheet 2 inches apart. Bake at 375~ for 10-12 minutes. Cool slightly before removing from pan. —–
