1 c Margarine; (2 sticks) at

-room Temperature 1 1/2 c Packed dark brown sugar

1 c Granulated sugar

1 ts Vanilla; (1 to 2)

2 Eggs

1 1/2 c All-purpose flour

1 ts Baking soda

1 ds Salt

1 ts Ground cinnamon

1 ds Ground nutmeg

1 Generous cup raisins

1 Generous cup chopped walnuts

Or walnut halves 3 c Uncooked rolled oats

Recipe by: St. Louis Post-Dispatch 12/2/96 Preheat oven to 350 degrees. With electric mixer, beat together margarine and sugars until creamy. Add vanilla and eggs; beat until smooth. Stir in flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg; mix until smooth. By hand, stir in raisins, walnuts and rolled oats. Drop dough by heaping teaspoons onto parchment-lined cookie sheets. Bake 12 to 14 minutes or until cookies are lightly and evenly browned. Leave on cookie sheets for 1 minute before removing to wire racks to cool completely. —–
