4 c Flour; sifted
1 lb Powdered sugar; sifted
1 lb Butter
1 lb Currants
1 lb Raisins
1 ts Nutmeg
1 Lemon rind; grated
12 Eggs; unbeaten
3 tb Milk
Mix one cup of flour with the fruit. Cream the butter until soft. Add the lemon rind and nutmeg. Add the flour, sugar and eggs alternately. Lastly mix in the fruit. Drop by teaspoons so that they look like little cakes. Bake at 450~ until brown, about 5-8 minutes and then reduce the heat to 350~ for another 5-8 minutes or until they look done. —–
