1 c Shortening

2 c Brown sugar

2 Eggs

To above mix 1/2 c Water

1 ts Vanilla

= in another bowl mix: 3 1/2 c Flour

1 ts Salt

1 ts Baking soda

1/8 ts Cinnamon

Mix well: Then combine bowls. Filling- cook until thick Stir constantly 2 c Dates; chopped

3/4 c Sugar

3/4 c Water

When thick add: 1 c Pecans; chopped

Recipe by: Margret Harrington Drop 1 teaspoon dough, add 1/2 teaspoon filling and 1/2 teaspoon dough on top. Bake at 375 —–
