1/4 c Butter or margarine; melted

1/4 c Hershey’s cocoa

3/4 c Applesauce

1 1/4 c Unsifted all-purpose flour

1 c Sugar

3/4 ts Baking soda

1/2 ts Cinnamon

1/4 ts Ground nutmeg

1/4 ts Salt

1 Egg; beaten

1/2 c Nuts; chopped

Recipe by: Hershey’s ‘Chocolate Classics’ Combine melted butter and cocoa; blend in applesauce. Combine flour, sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in large bowl. Blend in cocoa mixture and egg until dry ingredients are moistened. Stir in nuts. Spread in greased 9-inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean.
