1 1/2 c Elam’s Scotch-style oatmeal

1/4 c Brown sugar

2 1/2 ts Baking powder

3/4 ts Salt

1 c Milk

2 Eggs

1/3 c Cooking oil

Combine first 4 ingredients in bowl;mix.Combine and mix milk, eggs and oil.Add liquids to dry ingredients;mix.For each waffle, pour 1/2 of batter (1 1/3 cups) into preheated 9″ square waffle iron.Spread over grid at once.Close iron;bake until done and nicely browned.Serve hot with butter and maple syrup,honey, applesauce or preserves.Yield: 2 – 9″ waffles or 8 – 4″ waffles.
