2 eggs — beaten
3/4 cup milk
2/3 cup fine dry bread crumbs
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons onion — grated
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sage
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
Sauce: 1/4 cup catsup
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Combine eggs with milk, bread crumbs, onion, salt, sage, and meat. Mix well and shape into 9×5 inch rectagle or oval, or about 6 inch round. Carefully place in slow-cooking pot. Cook on low for 5 to 6 hours. Combine sauce ingredients in small bowl; pour over meat. Cover and cook on high 15 minutes longer. Slice and serve while hot or use cold slices for sandwiches.
